A central aspect of Living on the Spiritual Basis requires
us to turn our will and life over to the care of the Miraculous, relying upon a
Power Greater than Ourselves for freedom from the fear driven life, providing
us with direction and a sense of real purpose. We choose this road less
traveled when we finally faced up to the truth of being: That any life run on self-will can hardly be a success, spiritually. Plagued by unremitting
waves of fear and an inability to live with any lasting sense of peace,
regardless of earthly possessions or status, we sought a better way. Having
embarked on this new path we now see that fear wears a hundred masks, is an insidious
foe weaving corrosive threads through every aspect of our being and try as we
might on our own we are powerless to fully eradicate it, our victories short
lived. The final crushing blow coming when we finally see the truth:
self-knowledge availed us nothing in the end, in fact, self-knowledge only
intensified the discomfort, bringing home a sense of powerlessness that often felt
overwhelming.
From this seeming low point in consciousness we made a decision to open the door to this new way of living, the path of true freedom. Having embraced this new basis of living we have come to rely on our connection with the Miraculous, and by stepping out in faith, often trembling, we have come to believe. Once established on such a footing what used to be the hunch or occasional inspiration has now become a working part of the mind. We find we are now able to meet calamity with serenity and have come to know peace, all our needs met for that is the promise of this new basis of living. Embracing contrary action, we place the welfare of others ahead of our own, for this is the touch stone to true freedom of Spirit. By relying on and trusting the Miraculous to be the final authority in our lives, we have glimpsed our true destiny, our true place and that place is to be happy, joyous and free.
