When we know, who walks beside us, on this path we have chosen, our fears fall from us.

ACTIVE INACTIVITY

Set aside some time each week to be disconnected from the world. Turn off the phones (all of them), put the computer in hibernate and turn off the monitor, no TV’s, radios, mp3 players, iPods or any other sound producing device left on. Turn around or cover any clock that may catch your eye. Now read a book, a real one, no electronic readers, play a game (nothing electronic), write (with pen and paper) or just sit quietly experiencing the peace of the moment. Depending on your circumstances, small children, roommates, uncooperative spouses etc you may only be able to do this for a short period, but make the effort. It is an exercise in active inactivity, disconnected from the secular world, a demonstration in willingness to walk the road less traveled, a simple affirmation in action of our true connection to the miraculous.
